Yolunuz Cerrahpaşa’ya Düşerse…
İSTANBUL Üniversitesi’ne bağlı Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi’ne yeni atanan Dekan Prof. Özgür Enver’den sonra ilk kez gittim Cerrahpaşa’ya. Adı benim için hep kötü anılarda kalan Cerrahpaşa’ya giderken ayaklarım geri geri gidiyordu inanın.
Cerrahpaşa’da kalp krizi geçiren amcamı 500 m. mesafedeki hastaneye yetiştirdik ama kaybettik bundan 15 yıl önce. Bu kez babamın boyun damarlarından birinde, üstelik doktorların söylediği şekliyle beyin sapına en yakın bölgedeki damarda %80 bir daralma tespit etmişlerdi.
Bu da 12 Eylül döneminde bizim sıkıntılarımızdan dolayı bir kez felç geçirmiş babama, ölümcül darbenin kapının hemen ardında olduğu demekti. Bir beyin ameliyatını da kaldıracak yaşı çoktan geçmiş babamın derdine çare olacak bir hekimin varlığından bahsetti Op. Dr. Turgay Bilge.
İyi bir nörolog ve ahlaklı, faziletli bir insan bildiğim Op. Dr. Turgay Bilge ‘nin tavsiyesine uyarak düştük Cerrahpaşa’nın yollarına. Radyoloji tamam, nöroloji de tamam, ama nöroradyoloji ne demekti. İnsan başına gelince anlıyor.

Daha sonra Uluslararası Tıp Dünyası’nın da yakından tanıdığı ve ABD dahil bir çok ülkenin kendisine teklif ettiği imkanları reddettiğini öğrendiğim, Türk insanına hizmet etmek için, kendisine sunulan imkanlarla kıyaslanmayacak mütevazi şartlarda çalışmayı kabul eden Civan Hoca ve ekibindeki hekim arkadaşları Dr. Murat Velioğlu, Dr Süleyman Dikici ve hemşire Nurşen Çetinkaya, tıbbi terimi ile karotis arter stendleme işinde öyle bir noktaya gelmişler ki, beyin ameliyatına gerek kalmaksızın bir günde hastalarını iyileştirip evlerine taburcu ediyorlar.
Bu gibi olaylara rastlamak Türkiye’ye olan güvenini arttırıyor insanın. Yaşama bağlılığını arttırıyor. Babacığımı, korkarak oraya, belleğimde kötü anılarımın yer aldığı Cerrahpaşa’ya götürdüğüm babacığımı bir gün sonra sağlıcakla evine götürdük.
